Environmental Policy
Fineline Timbers are dedicated to implementing green initiatives that assist in protecting our environment:
- We reuse, recycle and reduce.
- We use recycled plastic strapping, wrapping and recycled paper.
- We recycle all plastic wrapping, strapping and office paper.
- We harvest rainwater for use on gardens and landscaping.
- We reduce our carbon footprint by using only green energy from our electricity supplier.
- We use less water through half flush toilets and water pressure limiting devices on all water outlets.
Sustainable Procurement
We understand that through irresponsible purchasing, we can have an impact on the future of our children and harm delicate habitats around the world. We also understand that through responsible management of our purchasing activities, we can have a real impact to support our earth.
Fineline chooses to purchase timber from only reliable sustainable sources. We work with our suppliers to ensure they have “Chain of Custody” certification, certified from a registered third party under the Australian Forestry Stewardship standards. This standard ensures that all timber purchased is from sustainably managed forests or plantations. At no time will we purchase timber that appears to be from illegally logged forest either in Australia or from overseas.
We actively support organisations that promote habitat sustainability such as the Australian Orangutan Project based in Borneo (South East Asia). Many of these Orangutans are displaced and separated from other family members due to the illegal logging of their habitats or poaching. For more information or to sponsor an orphaned infant Orangutan, please see our page Giving Back.
